When you see a beautiful woman you want to be her jeweler. The suite consists of well over 350 rhinestones including aurora borealis topaz, orange and dark green foiled and unfoiled pear-shaped stones green rhinestones set in bright goldtone.  It was originally marketed under the tag line of Easter Egg.  What makes the suite spectacular is the magnificent bib or collar style of the necklace and the accompanying pieces which carry the theme.

Are you wary of the ads that advocate the sale of your jewelry to scrap gold dealers by mail or in person?  Do the words  ’unwanted gold’  inspire confidence? 

 Those who use gold and unwanted in the same sentence are not looking out for your best interest but rather the fast buck.   Wouldn’t it be a shame  to discover later that your unwanted gold was instead a one of a kind piece of  great value.    It is sad but true that when gold rises these wolves in sheeps clothing appear and are looking to prey on the less informed.

Often times the jewelry can be sold for more than the pure gold content.  Additionally some of these dealers will actually deduct for the gemstones set in the jewelry.  Often only a fraction of the value of the diamonds is realized. 

You may think that this is terrible but to be fair when cash is laid out in advance and it is not known when or if the piece will sell.   On the other hand if a piece of jewelry is taken in on consignment the agreed well researched price is paid after the piece is sold.

Blister Pearl Bracelet

TLC Estate Jewelry loves the unique character of blister pearls and the fact that they come in large sizes and thus make a real statement. One day one of my favorite customers dropped by the store. I wondered why I hadn’t seen her in a while, and it seems she’s been working through some health issues. She had her jewelry box containing some of the items she inherited from family.

She wondered what they were worth and I said, “you never know until we take a closer look!” I discovered that she had some silver, gold and diamond pieces mixed in with the costume jewelry. Truly a treasure trove, and a timely find. I was please she’d heeded the advice to “never throw anything away” until WE see it.

Ten years ago Lynn was diagnosed with Stage 3 endometrial uterine cancer.  Today she is cancer free.  Together they beat the odds.  Lynn credits the loving devotion to her care from her husband Pat to their success.  About three years after the ordeal of fighting the cancer the couple decided to buy a diamond ring.   They decided on a  large light fancy yellow radiant cut diamond surrouned by diamonds in platinum. You see diamonds can have great significance to commemorate important events in life.  Every time Lynn looks at the diamond ring it warms her heart.   I know the story certainly warmed mine as I think it will yours.

Did you know that Rolex has been making its fine Swiss watches from 1905 to the present? This is a vintage ladies Rolex watch in 18K. Do you like the vintage style or the contemporary? 

I have been surprised to see that these ladies vintage Rolexes can still be acquired reasonably. Interesting that prices for gent’s vintage are expensive. Here’s another interesting thing, the ladies President which weighs substantially less than the men’s can cost considerably more. The reason being that so many fewer ladies are made while the demand remains strong.
